Abstract (EN)
The 21st century Tofig Bakıhanov, a distinguished composer and pedagogue, played a special role in the development and promotion of Azerbaijani folk music culture to the world. Travelling to many countries, he combined the folk rhythms and melodies of the nations in Azerbaijani music and brought the world music together with his own compositions. Bakıhanov, who is an accomplished violinist, especially used the violin instrument in his chamber music works. In 1987, he composed the "Turkish Sonata" from the "Eastern Sonatas" series, addressed to the People's Artist of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the famous violinist Server Ganiyev. In the 5th sonata "Turkish Sonata" for violin and piano, which is included in this series, the valuable works and rhythmic features of folk music are mentioned. In this study, Tofig Bakıhanov's life, artistic conception and statistical characteristics are discussed in general terms and No.5 Turkish Sonata is analysed in terms of violin techniques and interpretation methods, technical and musical difficulties are determined and suggestions are presented.
