Abstract (EN)
The Ottoman Empire, as a great empire that ruled over three continents, has been a matter of curiosity in military, political, social and economicterms. Such a large empire has beeb a matter of curiosity in military, political, social and economic terms. However, it is very difficult to examine such a large empire as a whole. Fort his reason, it makes it easier for researchers to examine the empire regionally. The most important source in regional studies is the Sharia Registers. Sharia Registers, which are defined in the dictionary as belonging to, and in accordance with Sharia, constitute the main source of our study. These notebooks contained proofs, rulings and fatwas, as well as poems an deven medicine recipes. Studying these notebooks contributes to the fields of culture, literatüre and law. These records are not official records but are the personal records of the kadi. In kadi courts, decrees from the center, normal military service procedures and case summaries were recorded without much detail. The diversity of subjects in the notebooks has made these records an indispensable source for Ottoman history researchers. This study, which was conducted specifically through the Yar Ahmed Districth at the local level of the empire, aimed to contribute to the history of the Ottoman Empire in general. In this study, the Sharia registry boks covering the years 1772-1810 were examined and the information obtained from the documents was evaluated by transcribing and summarizing 84 documents from 11 books containing records of Yar Ahmed District. The boks, which mainly consist of estate records, debt-credit cases and sales cases, provide us with information about the socio-economic situation of the neighborhood, such as the types and prices of goods and belongings belonging to the estate owners, the number of children and spouses, the names of places and persons mentioned in the estate, nicknames, division of inheritance, appointment of a guardian, from the books consisting mainly of estate records, debt-credit cases and sales cases. This study consists of an introduction, tree chapters and a conclusion. In the introduction section, after giving information about the definition and importance of the Sharia Register, the existing registers of Tokat and the research on Tokat Sharia Registers numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12 and 13, which are the subject of the research, are described. The first part, consisting of 5 headings, provides information about Tokat's geographical location, history and administrative structure. The second part give information about the definition of the neighbourhood, general information about Tokat Yar Ahmed District and the historical background of the name of this neighbourhood. In the third chapter, the Tokat Sharia registers dated 1772-1810 and the documents in these registers were classified and transcribed according to their subjects, and then the documents were evaluated according to their subjects. Since our stydy is subject-based, it has been supported by various doctoral theses, articles and boks.
