Özet (EN)
There is a mutual interaction between gender roles and urban life. There are gender-related differences in urban spatial practices and in experiencing social, economic, political, and cultural spaces in the city. Therefore, in order to understand the city sociologically, it is necessary to consider it in the context of gender. Ensuring gender equality in cities through urban planning and practices of local governments is of great importance in terms of revealing urban rights. In the most general sense, the right to the city refers to the equal and effective use of urban space by all individuals and their participation in this space. It is considered important to analyze the level of use of the right to the city, which is guaranteed by international, national, local, and regional conventions within the social structure, on the basis of gender through women's experiences in order to see the relations between urban space and gender. Analyzing women's experiences of urban space in their daily lives on the basis of gender is important in making urban rights visible and supporting women's studies. In this thesis, which aims to examine women's experiences in urban space and urban rights on the basis of gender, the relationship between gender experiences in their daily lives and urban space was analyzed within the framework of the right to the city through in-depth interviews with 25 women living in the city of Bursa. Qualitative research method was applied and semi-structured interview technique was used.
