Özet (EN)
In this work it is emphasized the effect of social movement as an important subject of sociology in the context of social movements, which is called 'the Gezi Park Events in Turkey, and how it affected Turkey. New social movements have been organized and spread through the means of new communication technologies. Societies respond in different ways to the events they are experiencing. Protests, rallies, social media organizations, etc. Gezi events/movement have presented images that fit the definition of the 'new' social movements. It is obvious that these particular events did not become reality only at squares. These events/movements, beyond political parties, had in aim to provide public and media support. The social movements whose number is increasing world wide, as well as in Turkey, use the social media effectively to bring the people together. The computer and the internet have changed the level of communication and have changed the societal structure as well. From this aspect, although the internet is new in the history of humanity, it has overcome all borders and created a new environment and reality. Keywords: The Park Gezi, Social Movement, Mass, İdeology, Violence, Authoritarianism
