Abstract (EN)

Social pratices are situations where unity and solidarity are provided. Every society has its own beliefs and rituals. People in search of space and meaning in the world have organized and systematized their behaviors through rituals. İt is possible to see the common ways of thinking and behavior of the society and their common memories in rituals. İn this study, together with the elements that make up the rituals, the relationship between space, food and people, rites of passage in Tırks, the past and present of Mevlit ceremonies are examined. İt has been observed that Mevlit ceremonies are performed for various reasons. İt has been observed that teaching food in places where Mevlit ceremonies are performed is done in order to establish cloceseness to he holy one. The religious life style of the society was shaped by the Mevlit ceremonies. Mevlit ceremonies which have become tradition over time, have been places where social solidarity and sharing are ensured. İt has been determined that the close relationship of religion with labor and worship constitutes the essence of the Mevlit tradition. The effects of food, place and reader elements of Mevlit ceremonies on tangible and intangible heritage have been determined. İt is aimed to determine the function of ceremonial meals in the Mevlit performed. The role of Mevlit ceremonies in transferring cultural memory and traditional experince is discussed.
