Abstract (EN)

Hysterectomy is the second most common operation performed by obstetricians and gynecologists after caesarian section. It has many indications an can be performed abdominal, vaginal, laparoscopic and robotic way. Depending on patients age and other factors, ovaries can be removed with uterus or left. Anemis is the most common blood disease. In different ways of hysterectomy, blood losses (Hgb, Hct decrease) are studied. But there is no study in literature including the effect of oophorectomy onto hemoglobine levels in the most common type of hysterectomy; abdominal hysterectomy. Thinking about the effect of anemia to the morbidiy and mortality, the decision of beginning this study are made. The direct relation of surgical duration with venous thromboembolism and such other complicatios are known. Considering the contribution of the patients quaity of life, we added discharging time. In 4 years of time, all of total abdominal hysterectomies in our clinic are analyzed for this retrospective study. In first group; patients had salpigectomy and ovaries are left. In the second group, patients had salpingooophorectomy. In our study, leaving the ovaries during total abdominal hysterectomy has a significant effect of hemoglobine levels bu there is no difference in surgical duration. Keywords: Hysterectomy, abdominal, oophorectomy, hemoglobin
