Objective: The aim of this course is to improve breast examination skills by using breast model and standard patient applications performed with 3 students of Faculty of Medicine. In this study, it is aimed that the students will be able to meet the patient in the standard patient practice, get a history of disease, communicate effectively and communicate badly. The aim of this study was to evaluate the knowledge level of the students by applying a questionnaire that measures knowledge, skill and attitude levels related to breast cancer and bad news. Method: The study was carried out in the standard patient practices included in the occupational skills applications during the 2017-2018 education period. The content of the application consists of obtaining the disease history from the standard patient and developing 'the clinical breast examination' meme skill on the breast model and informing the patient of the examination result. Before the application, all the students were given theoretical information about the subject and the application was made with the study guide on clinical breast examination. Pre-test and post-test results of the questionnaires from 406 students were evaluated and the standard patient application feedback form was evaluated. Results: 406 students participated in the study before and after the application of the questionnaires were evaluated, students learned about the risk factors for breast cancer and patients were able to question the story(p<0,05). They have developed the ability to perform breast examination and have been able to detect the presence of a mass in the breast (p<0,05). They experienced the skill of informing patients and giving bad news by referring to related branches (p<0,05). In addition, 99% of the students stated that they were satisfied with the application. Conclusion: As a result, a öncesi Standard Patient Practices eğitim can be used successfully in preclinical education with an objective scenario and regular training.
