Abstract (EN)
After the Berlin Conference of 1878, the territories of the Ottoman Empire began to be shared among the European states participating in the conference. In the world political scene, Italy; which is considered to be one of the smallest states of the European Powers and is at the back of the colonial race. Tunisia and/or Tripoli from the North African coast fell to the share of this looting for Italy. However, in 1881, with the conquest of Tunisia by the French, Tripoli remained the only option for Italy. For this reason, from the date of the occupation of Tunisia, Italy; at any cost to prepare for the acquisition of Tripoli and began to wait for the appropriate opportunity to arise. This waiting took quite a long time. Italy could only decide to send troops to Tripoli in 1911. Although Italy fought for more than a year in Tripoli, they never win a solid victory. They tried to intimidate the other territories of the Ottoman Empire by threatening them, blockade their seas and occupied their islands. Finally, when the Balkan War was turned up, the Ottoman Empire officially ended the war. This study is aimed to shed light on the military-political situation of the two states before 1911 by trying to obscure Ottoman attempts for the prevention of Italy's acquisition of soft power and occupying on Tripoli. In this last territory of the Ottoman Empire in North Africa, the preparations for the Italian invasion starting from the early, that they will encounter sooner or later, dates are examined.
