Abstract (EN)

SUMMARY The Analyzing of High Plateau Tourism Regarding Ecotourism in Some Tourism Centers Scale in Trabzon Due to increasing of industries and fast growing big cities nearly all over the world, people who have to live in unnatural environments have always been interested in tourism to get rid of negative effects of the situation in which they have been. However, because all touristic places have begun to seem similar and some degradations owing to over use have been recognized, people have started to pay attention to a new kind of tourism, which is a responsible travel to natural areas and is called ecotourism. Moreover, in Turkey, one of the major implementation fields of ecotourism is high plateaus in Black Sea Region. In this study, five high plateaus of Trabzon that traditional life styles are still seen on and have been declared as tourism center by the government have been chosen as study field. Some attention getting plants and their seasonal changes and wildlife and cultural characteristics have been observed and recorded during the research on the fields between June and October in 2004. In the study, of which the purpose is to make a contribution to high plateau tourism so that it could be sustainable while its cultural and natural characteristics are protected, two different questionnaires have also been given to local people and visitors to evaluate their approach to the tourism activities all over the research field.
