Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to determine the frequency of cardiovascular risk factors and healthy living behaviors in nurses. The phase of this complementary study consisted of 231 nurses working at Ahi Evren Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Training and Research Hospital in Health Sciences University, the entire universe is included in the research without sampling. Data were collected by using the descriptive information from containing the characteristics of the nurses 'Introductory Information Form', 'Cardiovascular Diseases Risk Factors Frequency Diagnosis Form' and 'Healthy Living Behaviors Scale-II'. Blood pressure measurement instrument, tape measure and weighing scale were used for measurements. Kolmogorov Smirnov, one way analysis of variance, independent samples t test, Kruskal Wallis, Mann Whitney U, correlation and chi-square tests were used for data analysis. The reliability of the scales was evaluated by Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Significance level was taken as p<0.05. Fort the study, informed consent was obtained from the ethics committee, institution permission and nurses. The mean score of the SYBDÖ-II of the nurses was found to be 121.85±10 and evaluated as intermediate level. When the mean scores SYBDÖ-II of the nurses were examined, it was found that; spiritual development, interpersonal relationships, nutrition, health responsibility, stress management and physical activity. A significant positive correlation was found between health responsibility and total scale score. It was concluded that healthy lifestyle behaviors of nurses had moderate and significant cardiovascular diseases risk factors. It was considered necessary to perform opportunistic screening for nurses in terms of cardiovascular risk factors and to develop healthy lifestyle behaviors in terms of cardiovascular diseases.
