Giresun in the yearbooks of Trabzon province (1869-1904)

An province yearbook provides information about the administrative organizations, economic activities, population and educational background, etc., so it has an importance for historiography. İn the yearbooks of the Trabzon province Giresun, Tirebolu, and Görele townships are within the Giresun's city boundaries at the present time. These are valuable sources of information because the history of Giresun is explained between 1869 and 1904 that is the publishing date of Trabzon province yearbook. İn this study, the areas of the Giresun that are located in current provincial boundaries and the position of the Giresun between 1869-1904 are tried to analyse and explain based largely on the Trabzon province yearbooks and the other sources. After these researches, historians reached some informations such as; the geogrophical position of the Giresun between 1869-1904, physical, demograpic, executive, financial, forensic and military structure.
