Özet (EN)
This study examines Gilles Deleuze's critique of classical Western hierarchies and his alternative rhizome metaphor, offering a productive framework for rethinking spatial production beyond traditional architectural paradigms. With this conceptual perspective, the research aims to re-evaluate the foundational roles of the minor yet resilient characteristics of nomadic communities within contemporary architectural discourse by examining their daily lives and spatial practices, whether they are settled in urban contexts as minorities or maintain their existence through topographical settlement. This study, focusing on the Yörüks as a case study, examines how minor communities (in a Deleuzian context: assemblages) transcend traditional hierarchical and linear modes of spatial production, highlighting the role of horizontal and articulatory relationality in sustaining spatial functionality. In this regard, the study's methodological approach remains grounded within a Deleuzian framework, translating the rhizome metaphor into contemporary practice. By emphasizing multiplicity and horizontal relationality, this approach integrates open-source parametric design algorithms and scripting techniques, enabling flexible, scalable, and context-sensitive spatial interventions. The findings demonstrate that rhizomatic methodology facilitates a more dynamic understanding of spatial production while enabling adaptable, inclusive, and sustainable design strategies. By integrating computational and open- source frameworks, minor architectures, such as Yörük tents and lightweight tectonic systems, function as catalysts for socio-spatial transformation, infiltrating urban and topographically diverse environments to create reconstructive and context-sensitive interventions. These practices not only address immediate functional needs but also contribute to social cohesion, cultural continuity, and ecological sustainability. Framed within global agendas including UNESCO heritage policies and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) the study highlights the broader relevance of localized, context-aware approaches in responding to pressing contemporary challenges. Furthermore, by connecting Deleuzian philosophy with the functional axioms of parametric design, it provides a reproducible framework for modeling minor spatial practices and lays the groundwork for future studies that investigate the intersections of design, social theory, and collective agency in large datasets and urban contexts.
