Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, synthesis of high-sintering activity particles by flame spray pyrolysis method, which will contribute to microstructure control of polycrystalline transparent MgAl2O4 ceramics, has been realized. Firstly, a flame spray pyrolysis reactor was designed for the production of particles. Alumatrane was chosen as precursor was then introduced into the designed reactor by diluting with an organic solvent such as ethanol to produce MgAl2O4 ceramic powders. As a process variable, the effects of the reactant-fed dispersing gas and the precursor, the concentration of the precursor used, and the different solvent fuels to the particle size were observed. Particle size measurements were done using Scherrer equation from the X-ray diffraction data obtained. The results were compared with the information gathered from the literature. The powders produced have homogeneous distribution and are synthesized in nanoscale spherical morphology.
