Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to examine transsexual women who have applied for gender reassignment surgeries in terms of father image and authority using projective tests. Transsexual is a person who is dissatisfied with the bodily sex he is born with and wants to have the biological, spiritual and social characteristics of the opposite sex. Transgender women are individuals who are born with male gender characteristics and want to be a woman. This study was conducted with 15 volunteer transsexual women aged 18-45 who were admitted to the hospital for sex reassignment surgery and were diagnosed with Gender Dysphoria. After the semi-structured psychoanalytic pre-interview, Rorschach Test and TAT were applied to the participants, and these materials were evaluated with content analysis specific to the French School. According to the findings of the study, it can be said that for these individuals, fatherhood and authority are devalued, distance has been taken and an authority difficulty arises in the paternal sense. However, when the authority image is examined, the dominance of the maternal authority and a symbiotic pattern of relationship with the mother are among the results of the study.
