Özet (EN)

This study aimed to establish a moderated mediation model in light of current approaches for understanding posttraumatic stress symptoms and posttraumatic growth. Accordingly, the moderated mediation role of dispositional mindfulness in the relationship between core beliefs disruption, intrusive and deliberate rumination, posttraumatic stress symptoms and posttraumatic growth was tested, considering sub-facet of mindfulness, and type of trauma differences. 246 adults who have traumatic experience with ages ranging from 19 to 77 participated in the study. Participants filled out Demographic Information Form, a sub-scale of Posttraumatic Stress Diagnostic Scale for trauma related information, The Core Beliefs Inventory, The Event Related Rumination Inventory, Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R), The Posttraumatic Growth Inventory and The Five-Facet Mindfulness Ouestionnaire. According to the results of the analysis, type of trauma have significant differences in total score from research variables. Results of this study suggested that dispositional mindfulness has a moderated mediation role of the indirect effect between the core beliefs disruption and posttraumatic stress symptoms and posttraumatic growth through intrusive and deliberate rumination. However, different sub-face of mindfulness has a different moderated effect on posttraumatic stress symptoms and posttraumatic growth. Findings of posttraumatic stress symptoms and posttraumatic growth were explained through core beliefs disruption, intrusive and deliberate rumination and dispositional mindfulness, and type of trauma differences. Shortcoming of the current study, contribution to literature, clinical implications of the study and the suggestion for future research of the study were presented.
