Abstract (EN)

In the production of soda ash from trona ore, the crystallization stage is important. Wherein thes olution is produced in a crystalline sodium carbonate process. In this stage the importance is quality of the product obtained which is sodium carbonate should be high. Also, most efficient solution is required to obtain crystals. The purpose of this study is the crystallization process conditions, soda ash (Na2CO3) to examine the effects on the crystal properties. Changes in physica land chemical properties of the crystals are analyzed with study is performed in different chemical additives. Crystal purity, grain size and morphology were specified then the effects on these features were investigated by ading different amounts of materials. The crystallization process performed under the Eti Soda A.Ş.' s laboratory conditions was designed to be appropriate for the Eti Soda A.Ş.' s operating conditions. As a result of experiments, the percentage of purity, the percentage of crystal amounts, the product amounts of product obtained and sieve size were designated. These analyses were performed according to ASTM E 359 2010 methods which are used in ETİ SODA A.Ş. Also the XRD and SEM analyses were performed. According to results, the high-purity sodium carbonate, the added product is 0,1 g Mg(OH)2. 1.0 g KOH is added to the samples having a maximum crystalline product. The grain size most suitable products, samples are added KOH as an additive.
