Abstract (EN)

Values have been tried to be transferred to individuals from early childhood from past to present. Today, with the development of technology, individuals have turned to digital environments and the use of e-books offered in these environments has increased considerably. This situation has made it necessary to question whether e-books meet the values that children should acquire. From this point of view, the aim of the study is to examine the e-books in the TRT Children's Library application in the context of the values included in the 2024 Turkish Lesson Teaching Program prepared by the Ministry of National Education. The study was conducted using the document analysis method, one of the qualitative research designs. In the study, criterion sampling was used and the criterion was determined as "representing the age level". In this direction, 50 books suitable for sampling were analyzed. The object of the study consisted of 10 books selected from the categories of from the Inside of Life, Curious Scholar, Our Tales, Nature's Tale and Our Heroes in the TRT Children's Bookshelf application. These e-books were evaluated within this framework and the distribution of values was analyzed. The data obtained as a result of the research were analyzed with descriptive analysis. As a result of the research, it was determined that a total of 842 value elements were included in the e-books analyzed. The values with the highest frequency were found to be helpfulness (f=116), love (f=94), responsibility (f=83) and friendship (f=82). The least common values were patriotism (f=4), privacy (f=5) and freedom (f=7). Although the TRT Children's Bookshelf application is insufficient in reflecting some values, it has a rich collection of books in terms of values in general and appears as a digital platform that contains books that can be used in teaching values. It is thought that the results of the research will guide the development of e-books in digital library applications, which have recently become widespread and have found a new place in the literature, in terms of values education.
