Abstract (EN)
Today, the cases of work stress and burnout are on the agenda more and more every day. Despite the high performance expectations of the organizations, with rapid technology development, many employees perform virtual loafing behaviors to get rid of work stress and the feeling of burnout, to become more expert in their work, and sometimes for their personal entertainment. While work stress has a partially positive effect on employees, when it is above this level, it causes some negative results and even causes burnout. It is thought that the employees may tend to be lonely as a result of the stress they experience at work and these behaviors will develop. Despite the policies developed within organizations for the gradually increasing internet use, the inability to gain full control over computers and mobile devices makes it difficult to control virtual loafing activities. This uncontrollable power has a power that can cause productivity losses unless directed to organizational policies. However, when the seemingly negative cyber loafing behavior is handled with burnout and job stress, many studies have shown that cyber loafing acts as a buffer and increases the productivity of individuals. In this study, it is aimed to examine the effect of burnout on cyber loafing based on the current literature and to reveal its importance. As a result of the research, it has been determined that burnout significantly affects virtual loafing. Keywords: Cyberloafing, Burnout, Internet, Work Stress 2020, 74 Pages
