Investigation of factors affecting consumers' green hospital perception in terms of demographic variables

One of the goals of sustainable development is "healthy individuals". The way to protect human health is the sustainability of hospitals in terms of both their structure, construction, design and management. Sustainable hospitals are perceived as producing alternatives especially for hospitals' resource use, developing energy types, managing waste, using water and many other materials in an environmentally and human-friendly manner without wasting water. In this context, in this study, it is aimed to determine how consumers who are health service users perceive green hospital factors according to their demographic characteristics. In the study, which was carried out through an online survey with consumers living in Adana, 427 valid data were collected and analyzes were made with the SPSS program. Data were collected through convenience sampling method using the cross-sectional survey method. It was found that the perception of the green hospital was valid and reliable in five dimensions, and the differences according to demographic variables were made with T-test and Anova. While there was no difference between the dimensions of energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, sustainable site planning and management, materials and resources, and water efficiency, education and perceived income, there were significant differences according to age, gender and hospital type.
