Abstract (EN)
After the collapse of the Asian Hun State, many Turkish tribes came to Eastern Europe in search of a new homeland. The tribes that established their own states here left important traces in the history of the region. The "Bulgars" one of these tribal confederations that settled along the Danube, founded the Danube Bulgarian State. The state, which was bound by Turkish customs until it adopted Christianity as the state religion in 865, had commercial and political relations with the Byzantine Empire in the geography it was neighboring. It played an important role in the history of the region until it came completely under the rule of the Byzantine Empire in 1018.
