Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out to determine the fish consumption habits of Elazığ province's Keban and Sivrice districts and Tunceli province's Pertek and Çemişgezek districts. The thesis study was conducted in 2021 (48.4% M, 51.6% F) using a questionnaire. According to the research results, its were 28.3% (n=235) Pertek of the participants, 25.9% (n=246) Keban, 24.2% (n=230) Çemişgezek and 27.4%' ü (n=235) consisted of the participants living in Sivrice. It has been determined that 36% of the participants in the survey prefer chicken meat first, red meat with 34% as 2nd , both red meat and white meat with 24% as 3th, and fish meat with 7% 4 th. They have stated that is delicious, nutritious and important for healthy nutrition of fish meat 28% of the participants stated, and 16.1% preferred it because of the habit of coming from the family. Fish consumption frequency of the participants was 40.7% once a month, 19.9% once or twice a week, 18.6% 2-4 times a month, 14.6% once or three times a year, 2.6% stated that they consume 3-4 times a week and 3.4% stated that they do not consume at all. It has been revealed that they prefer as 34.8% frying and 32.6% grilled as a way of consumption of fish meat. It was determined that 34% of the participants never preferred processed fish products, them of 34.0% preferred canned and of 9.2% smoked fish products. When the participants buy fish; It has been determined that they pay attention to 68.9% to their freshness, 20.4% to their type and 6.9% to their price. While deciding whether the fish is fresh, they said that decided by looking at 33.4% at their gills, 30.6% by their eyes, 20.7% by trusting the seller and 15.3% by looking at the skin shine.
