Abstract (EN)

Natural disasters have become more frequent in the world recently, and they have a significant impact on Turkey. Recently, earthquakes have caused thousands of structures to be demolished or severely damaged, resulting in the loss of lives and damage to thousands of buildings due to the expanding irregular building stock. Because of this, efforts are being made to alter national and international rules in order to incorporate provisions pertaining to building safety. Additionally, various structural carrier systems are taken into consideration in order to address the housing and settlement issue that large cities are facing as a result of increased migration. The study involves the individual modeling of a standard reinforced concrete building in the ETABS building analysis software. The building is analyzed for tunnel formwork with frames and shear walls, as well as for conventional structural systems with shear walls and beamless slabs. The analysis is conducted in compliance with the regulations outlined in the 2018 Turkish Building Earthquake Code. A comparison is made between the two systems' seismic behavior parameters, construction costs, and analysis results under identical loads and soil conditions.
