Modeling of tunnels with numerical analysis

With the increase in the world population and needs, the need for transportation has increased. In line with these needs, tunnel excavations (tunnels) with open two sides have been started to be made in areas where access is difficult due to landforms. Nature is the most important factor when planning tunnel projects. Therefore, while planning, we must consider the most fundamental purpose of engineering, which is to steer nature reliably. Solutions with finite element methods have been started to be made in order to solve complex and difficult to predict tunnel projects more easily and to prepare the model visually. Thanks to these methods, geotechnical problems can be determined more easily and solved in a short timeIn this study, dynamic analysis of twin tunnels with various parameters was performed with Plaxis 2D, which is one of the finite element methods. The values obtained as a result of the analyzes were interpreted with graphics and compared. As a result of the comparisons, it was determined that it would be correct to decide on the soil model according to what is requested from the analysis. It has been observed that the building load on the tunnels slightly reduces the vertical deformations. When the groundwater level is examined, the horizontal deformation increases as the groundwater level goes down, while the opposite situation is observed in the vertical deformation and pore water pressure.
