Medical (treatment) tourism in the capacamin of difference of tourist product: Kayseri study

Tourism, being a service-oriented sector, is a serious source of income for countries and, as one of the sources of employment, is directly or indirectly related to a large number of economic activities. In order to increase the economic impact of tourism, to be able to compete with other countries and to be able to sustain them, it is necessary to increase the diversity of tourism products. In this context, health tourism has a special significance and place as a rising value in Turkey and the world. The most important feature of the tourist products offered in the scope of health tourism is that they are highly profitable and sustainable. In addition, while other tourism products are closely related to natural destination and seasonal conditions, medical tourism may be developing more independently. In this study, a study was conducted in Kayseri province, based on the views of the stakeholders on the potential of medical tourism, development opportunities, expectations for the future and the current situation. According to the main results obtained, Kayseri province has an important potential for the development of health tourism in terms of respect for different cultures, international adequacy, destination characteristics and physical adequacy.
