Abstract (EN)

This study examines the literature on the topic of "tourism" and "airport" using the bibliometric analysis method. The effects of airport on tourism have become a significant research topic in recent years and this study provides an in-depth analysis of the literature in this area. The aim of the study is to reveal the current state of the field by analyzing scientific publications indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database between the years 1975 and 2024 using the keywords "tourism" and "airport". A total of 715 articles were evaluated and the distribution of these publications by year, country, institution, author, source, subject category and language was analyzed. In addition, co-authorship, citation and co-occurrence analyses were conducted using the VOSviewer software. The findings indicate that studies addressing the relationship between tourism and airport have increased in recent years and are predominantly produced by certain countries and institutions. Citation analyses revealed that some authors and specific themes (such as transportation infrastructure, tourist satisfaction and sustainability) stand out. In the keyword analyses, concepts such as tourism, airport, air transportation, accessibility and airport infrastructure were frequently used. This study is significant in that it systematically examines articles on tourism and airport, highlights gaps in the literature and provides guiding data for future research.
