Abstract (EN)
The aim of the study is to examine the perceptions of social equality of migrant women working in the tourism sector in Turkey. The impact of the migration process on women's social position has addressed the perception of social equality. Within the scope of the study, the relationship between migrant women's perceptions of social equality and variables such as age, marital status, education, income level, length of residence in Turkey and nationality was analyzed. The research findings reveal that participants' attitudes toward social equality and gender roles differ according to variables such as educational level, marital status, income level, and length of residence in Turkey. In addition, it is understood that the variables of age and nationality do not reveal any differences for many sub-dimensions. It is understood that perceptions of gender and equality may vary according to individuals' sociocultural and living standards. Participants with higher education levels and income levels are seen to have positive attitudes toward gender roles and equality. It was observed that participants who were married and had a high income level had a positive view of the perception of independent and strong women. The attitude toward the education level variable was consciously perceived in all sub-dimensions. Therefore, it is determined that education level is an important determinant in the perception of social issues. Keywords: Tourism, Migration, Migrant Women, Self-Concept, Perception of equity
