Abstract (EN)

The banking sector and the economic efficiency of banks are an important factor in the economic development of a country. In this scientific study, the existence of the relationship between housing loans volume and GDP was investigated as it was considered that the loans provided by banks in terms of economic growth had a certain share in the economic growth. At the same time, time series and techniques were used in the study in order to explain the relationship between economic growth and housing loans explained by economic theories. In order to determine the existence of any relationship between the variables used in this scientific study, stasis analysis, cointegration analysis, Granger causality analysis were applied to the variables. As a result of these analyses, it was determined that the first-level stationary series showed a one-way relationship from housing loans to economic growth according to Granger causality analysis. Therefore, it has been revealed that there is a long-term relationship between housing loan volume and GDP. This scientific study consists of three parts, the first two sections, the theoretical and the final sections, apart from the introduction and conclusion sections.
