Abstract (EN)
The thesis titled ‘Nationalist Ideology in Turkish Science fiction Cinema’ deals with the place of nationalism in Turkish Science fiction cinema. The emergence of the Science fiction genre in Turkish cinema, its progress, the ideological elements it contains and its current situation are examined. Science fiction films in Turkish cinema are examined and the elements of nationalism in this context are discussed. Turkish Science fiction films, which create a new subculture with their unique narrative, are discussed as low and high budget films and presented with examples. In addition to the narrative narratives of these films discussed in the content of the thesis, the nationalist ideology contained in them is also explained.
