Analysis of studies about Turkish language and literature education: A meta-synthesis study

The aim of this study is to reveal how the graduate theses (doctorate) made after the Turkish Language and Literature Curriculum (2018) has been put into practice serves the literature teaching for the purposes of the program. The research was carried out according to the meta-synthesis method suitable for this purpose and this method was used to investigate the suitability of doctoral theses to the Turkish Language and Literature Curriculum. While determining the study group of the research, the Turkish Language and Literature Teaching Department and Turkish Language and Literature Education Department were scanned from the National (YÖK) Thesis Center database. It was made in the form of doctoral dissertations written between 2015-2018, the status of which was approved by detailed screening permission, and 5 doctoral dissertations were reached. In this study, 5 doctoral dissertations were examined in Turkish Language and Literature Curriculum (2018) as documents. The appropriateness of doctoral theses in the Turkish Language and Literature Curriculum (2018) was examined. Document analysis was used as the data collection technique. For the purpose of research, this technique was used to examine the related written materials. Turkish Language and Literature Course Curriculum (2018) and 5 doctoral thesis are research documents. Based on the data, a synthesis was tried to be found and documents were examined for this. If we gather the findings of the research in a general framework, our findings are educational elements in Murathan Mungan novels, a textbook titled Nazariyât-ı Edebiyye, academic writing, teaching Turkish as a foreign language, and training Turkish language and literature prospective teachers. In the study, it was concluded whether the curriculum is centered on or not across the doctoral theses.
