ABSTRACTIn this dissertation ?A Sociolinguistic Study of the Concept `Road? in TurkishLanguage?, the concept `road? is studied formally and conceptually throught .The method being applied in this analysis of the concept `road? is the linguisticsign model of Ferdinand de Saussure where the concept is discussed dycronicly andsyncronicly.More over the use of the term `road? has been discussed in sentences andsamples has been chosen to demonstrate the meaning and form among word groups,proverbs and idioms.There are also new approaches and viewpoints to the applied methods in thisstudy.
