The people's houses in the socio-cultural and economic life of Turkish women

Since the first years of the Republic, new institutions have been opened with the aim of bringing the new regime and reforms to the society. Community centers, which have an important place among these institutions, served as a bridge between the republican regime and the people. In this period, the place of women in society was questioned and together with the Republic, women gained some rights in the social, cultural, political and legal fields. The community centers, which were brought to life as the cultural institutions of the republic, worked diligently to bring men and women to an equal position. In this study, the relationship between community centers and the modernization, acculturation, socio-cultural and economic adventure of Turkish women, as Turkish women are an important part of the Turkish modernization process, has been tried to be evaluated. Although there have been many studies on Community Centers until this time, no studies have been conducted for women. For this reason, it has been decided to deal with Community Centers from this aspect and with this study, it is desired to contribute to the literature by determining the role of Community Centers in the participation of Turkish women in socio-cultural and economic life. The materials to be used during the preparation of the thesis will primarily be primary sources. Republic Archive, TBMM Archive, Periodicals, Official Publications and source books, instructions and directives published for the own organizations and community centers of the Republican People's Party will be the main working resources. Books, articles and theses that provide information on the subject are also among the resources to be researched.
