Abstract (EN)
Contributions of intermodal transport to the Turkish logistics industry and to the development of Turkish economy were mentioned in this thesis in which intermodal transport, the type of transport that different modes of transport are used together, After explaining intermodal transport in the first part of thesis, the Turkish logistics industry was analyzed from the types of transport view. In the third part of the thesis, Turkish logistics industry was analyzed in means of logistics infrastructure. As being the components of intermodal transport; vehicles, roads, terminals and warehouses, human resources and managerial approaches were evaluated. A proposal of a model about the development of intermodal transport infrastructure in Turkey was made and operation steps of the process were given. As the result, applications and suggestions that are necessary for the development of intermodal transport in Turkey were presented at the end of the thesis.
