Özet (EN)
Mythology is the system of sacred values that the first man believed in, and the form of this system that was formed and poured into the text.In short, mythology is the symbolic presentation of cosmic information, the expression of secret Sciences and languages. All these are found in the Turkish mythological system as a whole and in folk literature and folklore genres that are a reflection of the system (Bayat, 2005, p.14). In Turkish mythology, especially after Islam, animal figures have undergone a change of meaning and many have not been used. Spread over a wide geography, the Turks have included their own interpretations of animal figures in line with both their religious beliefs and other civilizations they were influenced by. In the history of Turkish society, there is a rich accumulation of culture that has been given by polytheistic religions, beliefs such as shamanism and nomadism. This wealth has also brought about changes. Animals used as symbols of power during the period when shamanism was effective show changes over time and in line with beliefs, or do not change at all. Real animals such as deer, Wolf, Bear, Eagle, bird, fox were used as cults in Turks, while surreal animals such as Dragons, Emerald Phoenix, Griffon, Sphinx were also effective as a form of expression (Yildirim, 2016, p.3). The general purpose of the research is to evaluate animal images in Turkish mythology with their general characteristics, image, color and composition characteristics are applied on modern clothing designs according to the results of the research.
