This study aims to examine the performances of oral works in Turkish music in terms of style and attitude and to evaluate the interview with Mustafa Doğan Dikmen in this context. Turkish music has a special place among world music with its deep-rooted history and rich cultural heritage. This type of music has developed in a wide geography and historical process extending from Central Asia to Anatolia, from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic of Turkey. Verbal works are one of the basic building blocks of Turkish music, and style and attitude elements play a major role in the performance of these works. In the first part of the study, the historical development of Turkish music and the musical career of Mustafa Doğan Dikmen are discussed in detail. The evolution of Turkish music from Central Asia to the present day, important turning points and Dikmen's contributions to this musical culture were examined. In the second part, Dikmen's style and attitude were evaluated in detail within the framework of the interviews. The place and importance of the concepts of style and attitude in music, how Dikmen manifested these elements and the place of his musical interpretations in Turkish music were emphasized. As a result of the research, it was revealed that Turkish music has a rich historical and cultural heritage, performances of oral works reflect the spirit of this music, and elements of style and attitude have an important place in these performances. It reflects the musical talent and researcher identity of Mustafa Doğan Dikmen and reveals the depth and richness of Turkish music. It has been determined that Dikmen created an important balance in music education by combining the traditional meşk system with modern education methods. This study is important in terms of examining the performances of oral works, which is an important area of Turkish music, in terms of style and attitude, and evaluating Mustafa Doğan Dikmen's contributions in this context. The findings of the research will contribute to our better understanding of the rich heritage of Turkish music and to transfer this heritage to future generations. In addition, it will be an important resource for music students and academics and will raise awareness for the preservation of the values of Turkish music.
