Abstract (EN)
This thesis analyses the effects of the concept nation on the historical development of music and Ahmed Adnan Saygun's opera "Özsoy" according to these effects. "Özsoy", written and performed according to the political structure of the era and changes related to the revolution; is analyzed in the context of the historical development of the nation-music concept. The purpose of this analysis is to provide a source about the genre opera, which has been intended to be placed in to the Turkish culture. This thesis aims to contribute to the "Turkish Opera" studies of both students and instructors.
