Abstract (EN)
The concept of childhood has been used in different meanings to keep up with the in certain periods of history.Childhood has emerged as a concept in which adults generally define themselves through parenting, and individuals in the society attribute meaning to themselves in terms of cultural values.Especially if we accept that art is a form that reflects culture, it is important to trace the reflections of the concept of childhood, which constitutes one of the social values, on art, in order to examine the meaning of the concept of childhood in society in depth. The process that started with miniature in the history of Turkish painting showed a break after the establishment of the Republic. It is seen that the concept of motherhood has started to be used together with the theme in order to reconstruct the social values, as well as to deal with the image of the child with purity and naturalness.Artists, who use observations and portraits from their own lives in their works, along with contemporary Turkish painting, have examined regional differences and lifestyles.A comprehensive analysis of the child image and evaluations on the works will shed light on the evaluation of the process in Turkish painting.
