The process of character development and author's stance in Turkish novel: (Yeşil Gece-Huzur-Masumiyet Müzesi)

Character fiction, which is one of the main issues of the novel genre, has been the subject of many studies until today. In this study, the fictional character is discussed together with the theory of the author and its relations with the character of the creative writer are emphasized. In order to encompass this relationship, first of all, the concepts of author, narrator and character were examined from a historical and theoretical perspective. After understanding the concepts, the author's relationship with the character is explained in relation to Wayne C. Booth's conceptualization of "implied author" and Mihail Bahtin's work titled "Author and Hero in Aesthetic Activity". In order to determine the nature of the relationship that the author has with his character in the novels examined, first of all, the position of the author in the text has been determined. Then, with examples from Turkish and Western literature, the author's way of constructing his character and the external and internal conditions that are effective in his relations with him are emphasized. In the sample part, the character setup of Şahin Efendi, the main character of Yeşil Gece, Suat, one of the main characters of Huzur, and Kemal Basmacı, the main character of the Museum of Innocence, and their relations with the authors were examined. The aim of the study is to open new doors at the point of relations between the author and the character, which is one of the main elements of the novel.
