Poverty in Turkish novel

Poverty is one of the most important and biggest problems of history. In our country, poverty, that has become differentiated with the change of social structure, has always been on the agenda as a social problem. Poverty that is only expressed with the economic definitions and statistical information without adding social pillar makes it incomplete and misinterpreted. It will be more accurate to consider the value judgments of the society, traditions, customs and the most importantly individual experience by frameworking it. In this study, poverty, which is the phenomenon that many sciences concentrate on and its reflections on Turkish novels and novelists have been analyazed in terms of dimension or type experienced periodically. Poverty as a social problem and novels which deal with poverty issues have been brought together in the thesis. The study conducted through novels that deal with poverty issues. It also includes how the reality of the poor society is reflected in the novels by novelists on a sociological basis. Also, considering the economic society structure and standards that the novelists come from, the reason behind the problem of the novelists is addressed. It has been tried to show how the underlying causes of the problem have been addressed by novelists, considering the economic society structure and standards that the novelists come from.
