Analysing perception of the education administrator and the inspector in Turkish cinema

Cinema continues its effectiveness today as a mass communication tool that is formed by the combination of moving pictures and wants to give a message to its audience. The messages and thoughts in the content can be understood by analyzing the signs and expressions and making sense of them. In our study, it is aimed to examine how educational administrators are perceived in Turkish cinema. In order to examine the perceptions of educational administrators in Turkish cinema, 13 films were examined with semiotics and discourse analysis methods. According to the results of the examination, it was seen that the educational administrators were presented to the audience with both their positive and negative aspects, and it was revealed that they were perceived by the audience in both ways. In addition, it has been determined that the current political, social and economic conditions have been transferred to the cinema in a way that will show the effect on the education administrators. When the directors in the examined films are evaluated according to the social conditions, it has been seen that it has a meaning. The study is important as it is thought that the perceptions of education administrators can give an idea to the practices that aim to improve education and education administrators.
