Shared concepts and changing elements in Turkish mirrors for princes tradition

Political discourse, which has been influential since the first written works in Turkish literature, has become a tradition in time; this tradition to rulers and other high-level government officials; It has turned into a written type that is advised in order to ensure that they have political morality, to show the right path to be followed in administration and to establish good relations with the public. These works, which are considered as a siyasatnama, deal with the principles of good governance, the responsibilities of the state to the public and the moral characteristics of the rulers, as well as some recommendations on social issues such as family life, marriage institution, child upbringing, speaking and table manners. The aim of this study is to determine the issues that have been touched upon and changed in twelve works in the type of siyasatnama written in various Turkish states over the centuries. These works are; Farabi's Al-Medinetü'l Fâzıla Yusuf Has Hâcip's Kutadgu Bilig, Nizâmü'l-Mülk's Siyâset-nâme, Zencânî's Kitâbu'l Letâifi'l' Alaiyye fi'l fedâili's-seniyye, Şeyhoğlu Mustafa's Kenzü'l-Küberâ ve Mehekkü'l-Ulemâ, Ahmed bin Hüsameddin Amâsî's Miratu'l-Mülûk, Lütfi Pasha's Asafname, Kınalı-zâde Ali Çelebi's Ahlâk-ı Ala'i, Gelibolulu Mustafa Âlî's Nushatü's Selâtîn is Koçi Bey's Koçi Bey Treatise, Kâtip Çelebi's Düstûru'l-amel li Islâhi'l-halel and Defterdar Sarı Mehmet Pasha's Nesâyıh'ül-vüzerâ v'el-ümerâ. Works, X. and XVIII. These texts have been chosen from among the texts that have been found to have the most information about the period they were written between the centuries, and the subjects in various fields. These texts were analyzed using scanning and descriptive methods. The biggest commonalities in the advice given to the managers in the examined works are related to the fact that they should have some basic values such as being fair, having morals, observing the principle of merit and being sensitive in the use of public goods. In addition, some of the rules in the institution of marriage, advice given for child upbringing and some etiquette rules that regulate social life are included at the beginning of the advice given for social life. The biggest example of the change in the works between the centuries is the XVI. and XVII. It is the problem of increasing bribery and the constant change of officials, which has been an issue that has been emphasized by writers for centuries. It is a problem that writers dwell on as of the 16th century and provides important information about the political and social change of the period.
