A life in Turkish politics: Reşat Doğru

As in all branches of science, a serious study of history can only be conducted through knowledge of scientific research methods. Therefore, conducting a scientific study in history is only possible by accurately examining and understanding the causes of events and the factors that influence them. The most indispensable element in achieving the goal of the science of history is method. Method refers to the intellectual attitudes and approaches that enable a science to direct itself to its goal and achieve this goal. In this sense, the practical function of method is to reflect the subject of research, that is, objective reality, in the most understandable way. Based on this assessment, history emerges as a tool for examining complex and multifaceted social events, using its own approach to illuminate one aspect or a segment of these events. While science alone cannot express the totality of social reality, each science attempts to dismantle this totality, incorporate the parts it deems relevant to its field, and present this new synthesis as social reality. Therefore, examining a sociological or economic phenomenon separately through various sciences, while important, creates inherent differences. To reduce these discrepancies, we have endeavored to utilize, to the extent possible, the techniques of partial social sciences such as sociology, political sociology, psychology, geography, and demographics in this study. Particular attention has been paid to examining social reality, facts, and events in their entirety. In other words, this research is not solely about military and political history. It has not been overlooked that a serious investigation is only possible with knowledge of scientific research methods in achieving this integrity. The methods employed in various stages of our research, from the identification of the bibliography to the proofreading of the research, were based on scientific research theories. Consequently, in our research, which also sought to utilize other branches of the social sciences, we consider it essential for the historian's profession to examine events in the light of concrete data, primarily by utilizing official sources. Reşat Doğru was born on July 20, 1955, in Erbaa, Tokat. His father's name is İbrahim, and his mother's name is Ayşe. He is a Doctor of Medicine; He graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. He specialized in Anesthesiology at Kayseri Faculty of Medicine and General Surgery at Ankara Social Security Institution Dışkapı Hospital. He worked as a General Surgery Specialist and Chief Physician at Yozgat State Hospital. He also served as a General Surgery Specialist at Tokat State Hospital. He served two terms as President of the Tokat Medical Chamber. He was elected as a Member of Parliament for Tokat in the 21st, 23rd, and 24th terms. He served as a State Minister in the 57th Government. He served on the Health Commission in the 21st term, and on the Environment and Human Rights Commissions in the 24th term. He was a member of the Turkish Group of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (Keipa) in the 23rd and 24th terms. Minister Doğru speaks intermediate English and is married with two children. This research examines Reşat Doğru, who has left his mark on Turkey's recent political life. Our study primarily aims to chronicle the life of Doğru, who made significant contributions to both Tokat, where he was elected as a Member of Parliament, and to Turkey.
