Abstract (EN)

Television, which is one of the most common mass communication tools of today, has an effect of creating common tastes on different individuals in terms of presenting different lifestyles to the audience and influencing the ideas and behaviors of individuals. The aim of this study is to examine whether or not religious items are included in TV programs in the context of TV series. The study is based on the hypothesis that, in the postmodern period, there is a change in the direction of the increase of religious elements in television series in connection with politics. The questions such as which elements referring to religion are presented in the TV series that have a widespread audience, whether they are presented or not in accordance with the religious doctrines, whether or not the serials that are broadcasted on channels with different ideological perspectives differ in terms of having and presenting the religious elements are aimed to be answered during the study. The data that is obtained as a result of watching all the episodes of the two TV series that are broadcasted on two different television channels in the same period were tried to be interpreted through content analysis.
