Özet (EN)

The reforms and modernization movements carried out in the early years of the Republic have caused fundamental changes in the social structure. This stiuation has also been reflected in theater plays, where efforts were made to reduce the influence of religion in society, while also serving to promote the adoption and dissemination of the ideology of the Republic. Between 1923 and 1938, religious beliefs and old societal structeres were criticized in the theater plays. The social status of women was also addressed in accordance with the modernization goals of the Republic. However, the number of theater plays dealing with this subject decreased after 1938. The end of the revolutionary period and the change in societal priorities after this date, as well as the writer's inclination towards new subjects, have had an impact on this. Keywords: Religion, society, ethics, tradition, reverand.
