Türk yaşlı nüfusunda üretkenlik, yaşamın anlamı ve depresif belirtiler arasındaki ilişkiler: Bir arabuluculuk analizi

The aim of the present master's thesis was to investigate the association between generativity and depression, as well as the mediating role of meaning in life in this association among Turkish elderly population. Data were collected from 152 older individuals aged between 65 and 88. The results of the current study revealed that generativity was not associated with depression. Regarding the meaning in life, although the association between generativity and the search for meaning in life was insignificant, generativity was positively associated with the presence of meaning in life. Similarly, while the presence of meaning in life was not associated with geriatric depression, the search for meaning in life was positively associated with depression. The findings of mediation analysis revealed that neither the presence of meaning in life nor the search for meaning in life mediated the association between generativity and depression among Turkish elderly individuals. The findings of the present study were discussed in light of the existing literature. The strengths and limitations of the study, clinical implications of the findings, and the directions for future research were presented.
