This study covers the appearance of civil war in Syria, which is an old friend of Turkey, on the Turkish print media and the importance given by print media to this news. On the other hand, an attempt was made to assess the current situation by shedding light on Syrian political history. The second part of the study sought to provide the most up-to-date information on Syria. An attempt was made to explain the most important details of the point reached since the beginning of the civil war. In this section, the military and political dimensions of the Syrian crisis and the intervention of foreign powers were compiled. In the last part of the study, the news on Syrian civil war that appeared in the major newspapers of Turkish print media, Sabah and Turkey, in period of July and August of 2016, have been analysed. An attempt was made to make an evaluation by examining the news from two newspapers in the Internet Archive day by day for the above period. At the same time, attempts were made to compare these two newspapers with similar news on the events. The sources of the messages, the terms used and the suitability of the images were examined.
