The invesgation of the relationship between the teaching planning proficiency perception and time management skills perception of turkish teachers

It can be said that planning of teaching and effective use of teaching time are two important actions to achieve goals in teaching. The main purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between perception of planning competencies of Turkish teachers and perceptions about effective use of time. Therefore, the study is characterized by a quantitative relational research. The absence of such research in the literature makes the study important for researchers and practitioners. The universe of the study consists of Turkish teachers who work in Eyüp, Gaziosmanpaşa and Sultangazi districts in Istanbul in 2016-2017 Academic Year. In the process of conducting the study, a sample was chosen from the study universe because it was very difficult to reach all teachers. The sample was determined by a simple random sampling method. The sample consisted of 350 Turkish teachers. The first part of the data collection tool consists of personal information form. In the second chapter, "Teaching Competency Perception Scale" was used. In the third chapter, "Time Management Inventory" was used. While evaluating the findings obtained in the study, for statistical analysis statistical package program SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences, Version 21.0) was used. The data were transferred to the program and the research analyzes were made with this program. In the study, it was found that Turkish teachers' level of competence perception of teaching was "high "and that the time management skill levels were "frequently" . Besides it was found that There is a statistically significant difference between the perceptions of Turkish teachers about time management skills and "gender" and "marital" status variables. It was also reached that there is a positive and medium level relationship betweenTurkish teachers' planning competence perceptions and time planning skills and there is a significant relationship on a positive over -low level between teaching planning competency perceptions and time attitudes skills. Moreover, it is concluded that there is significant relationship on a positively low-level between teaching planning competence perceptions and time-consuming skills and there is a moderately, positively significant relationship between teaching planning competence perceptions and time management skills.
