Abstract (EN)

In this study, completed master's thesis in the fields of science education, physics education, chemistry education and biology education in Turkey between 2000 and 2020 years were analyzed in terms of various variables by subjecting them to content analysis, one of the data analysis methods. The 1634 master's theses examined within the scope of the research include "the year of publication of the research, the gender distribution of the thesis authors, research methods, data analysis methods used in the research, sample sizes, sample quality, class levels, cognitive dimensions, affective dimensions, type of data collection tools, academic success." were examined according to student characteristics, learning environments and subject distributions. The universe of the study consisted of master's theses published in the fields of science education, physics education, chemistry education, biology education between 2000-2020. The sample of the research consisted of 1634 master's theses with access, which were published in the fields of science education, physics education, chemistry education, and biology education between 2000-2020 years in the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education. When the methods of the theses included in the research were examined, it was seen that the majority of the researchers preferred the quantitative research method and the quasi-experimental design included in the scope of their research. Among the data analysis methods, it was found that the descriptive statistical analysis technique was more preferred. In the examinations made in terms of subject, it has been determined that the subjects of the curriculum were electricity in science education, force and motion in physics education, ecosystem in biology education and matter in chemistry education. In the studies, the most commonly used sample size in the areas covered by the study is in the range of 1-50 people. As a sample, studies in the fields of physics education, chemistry education and biology education were mostly carried out with high school students. In science education, it has been determined that secondary school students are frequently preferred. In the field of science education at the grade level, secondary school 7th grades are more common, 10th grades in the field of physics education are preferred more as samples, while more studies have been carried out with 9th grades in the fields of chemistry education and biology education. It has been determined that scientific process skills, knowledge levels, attitude and perception/understanding sub-dimensions, which are within the scope of cognitive and affective dimensions, were mostly subjected to studies.
