Abstract (EN)

This research, social science subject areas of education and social studies dissertations made in the field of education between the years 2004-2017 in turkey and aimed to identify the methodological trends. In the research, was designed according to qualitative method. Document analysis method was used for descriptive analysis of doctoral theses in the field of social studies education and training. The population of the research consists of doctoral theses written in the field of social studies education and social studies training between the years 2004-2017 in the database of the Higher Education Council Documentation, Publication and Department. 65 doctoral dissertations on social studies education and 87 doctoral dissertations social studies training were granted on 10.07.2018. Accordingly, doctorate theses can be used for years, universities, institutes, department, the title of science advisor, thesis language, the number of pages, research topics, sampling methods, sample size, study group, research designs, data collection tools, analysis methods validity and reliability methods are divided into categories. In the created categories, frequency and percentage statutes were subtracted and findings were tried to be obtained. The data were analyzed with the thesis review form created by the researcher and transferred to the computer. Descriptive content analysis technique was used for data analysis.
