Abstract (EN)
This study aims to analyze economic, political and institutional effects on Turkey of custom union which was founded between Turkey and EU. Studies concerned with the custom unions determined that custom unions can bring out structural changes in contracting parties of custom union. Based on these approaches, this study was work to evaluate changes with custom union in Turkey gaining-losing axis in last 20 years. In this study SWOT analysis method was applied for understanding of structural changes with custom union effects in Turkey. In the first part of study, stages of economic integration and its effects has been defined and analyzed. In the second part of study given economic, politic and institutional relations between EU and Turkey has been outlined. In the third part of the study effects of custom union on Turkey has been analyzed in the light of first and second part's sections. In conclusion, custom union has important role in relations between Turkey and EU and it can continue its role within shaping future of relations
