Abstract (EN)

Beekeeping, crucial for global food security and ecosystem sustainability, has evolved into a strategic research field in Turkey, driven by the country's rich flora and deep-rooted production tradition. This study provides a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of Turkey-originated beekeeping literature between 1984 and 2026, utilizing data from the Web of Science. Based on an extensive dataset encompassing 3,137 authors, 841 institutions, and 2,608 keywords, the research maps institutional collaboration networks and thematic shifts using VOSviewer software. The findings indicate that beekeeping research in Turkey has transitioned from traditional husbandry toward multidisciplinary domains such as apitherapy and artificial intelligence. While Ankara University (81 publications) leads in publication volume, Erciyes University (10,562 citations) ranks at the top in terms of global impact, particularly through its pioneering work on the "Artificial Bee Colony Algorithm." Çakmak, İ. and Karaboğa, D. emerge as the most influential figures in the literature. In recent years, the biochemical properties of propolis and optimization algorithms have formed the most dynamic research clusters. By documenting Turkey's scientific performance, this study offers a strategic roadmap for researchers and policymakers alike.
